Welcome to Imaging By Design.

My name is Gerardo Rafael Cantu.  I am originally from Brownsville, Texas, and have lived in some pretty amazing places, like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, Rome, Mobile, and the south of France.  Currently I am living in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.

I graduated with a BA in communications from the University of North Texas, where I first took computer graphic courses and minored in art photography.  I also have an MA in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

Growing up in south Texas with a Mexican mother and an American father, I was fortunate to have been exposed to both cultures from a very young age.  My Mexican heritage is very colorful.  It is where I get my resourcefulness, my ability to think out of the box, my use of color and the richness in the images I create.  The American side of me is where I get my needing for it to be “perfect”, my work ethic, my ability to be on time and the diligence to continue until my clients are totally satisfied.

The graphics I create are an amalgamation of my passion for art, spirituality and psychology.  By carefully listening to my client’s needs, I am able to create images that best represent the essence of the message they wish to convey about their business, their products and/or themselves through logos, brochures, CD and DVD covers, post cards, business cards and the over all look of their websites.  I also do portraits.
